In 1969 Hammer cast Madeline in the role of ‘Dolly’, a prostitute in a brothel scene dominated by an extra-ordinary snake-charming sequence in Taste The Blood Of Dracula (1969). Less than three months later she was asked to appear as ‘Emma Morton’ in The Vampire Lovers (1970) with Ingrid Pitt, Hammers most sexually explicit film to date.
Her farewell to Hammer was in Frankenstein And The Monster From Hell where she played a most sensitive performance as ‘Sarah’ the mute ‘Angel’ to the inmates of a lunatic asylum, and was probably the most important role she gave for Hammer.
