Horst Jansen played the part of Captain Kronos in the film that created a whole new vampire lore and a superhero. Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter was created with a view to further adventures for the captain in subsequent sequels, which unfortunately were never made, although his adventures continued in the first three editions of The House Of Hammer magazine. Caroline Munro starred alongside Jansen as Carla the gypsy girl. Although not one of the most successful Hammer movies it did become a cult movie.
